Ferme Auberge

The Ferme Auberge is a quality assurance mark for caterers indicating that over 80% of food sold in the farm restaurant or shop is farm produced. The remainder of which must be sourced from other local suppliers.

We have spent many sunny afternoon's at our local French farm restaurant, eating ourselves into a coma!! The food is not just regionally, traditional, but plentiful!! Still, a pleasant experience non the less.

If you're ever in the area, visit La Ferme Auberge du Belvédère.

These establishments also can offer holiday cottages and camping, on farm catering and direct sales.

Also, on farm leisure pursuits like hunting , and equestrian events are also part of the diversification strategy for the region, and accounts for about 10% of the agricultural value.

Therefore the food you receive is nearly all free range and you can tell!!

The Chambers of Agriculture operate a project called 'Bienvenue a la Ferme' Welcome to the Farm, to encourage these activities as well as informing the general public on farming practice through an annual farm open day, which has taken place throughout the country for the last 20 years.

To find out more about traditional farm restaurants in France have a look at their official site, don't worry if you can't read French, you can view everything in English also. www.bienvenue-a-la-ferme
